Jerry Walker

Jerry Walker started his career working on high-reliability U.S. Naval nuclear instrumentation and controls, then served as Systems Engineering manager in a startup that became Kodak Berkeley Research, designing error-correction codes and applied them to radio, microwave, and optical disk products. Serving as the General Manager of a fabless integrated circuit startup his team developed the earliest DVD decoder circuits. He also received a patent for an extremely wide-range Xenon flash system used in medical applications. For the past seven years Jerry consulted to several companies, principally in applying microcontrollers in power control and instrumentation, including a large networked battery system. Jerry holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley.
